Have you heard about the new Frank Lloyd Wright gallery?

The latest Frank Lloyd Wright addition to the SC Johnson campus in Racine, Wisconsin is now open. The SC Johnson Gallery: At Home with Frank Lloyd Wright examines Frank Lloyd Wright’s impact on the American home. The first exhibit, Exploring the Prairie-Style Designs of Frank Lloyd Wright, is co-curated by Bruce Brooks Pfeiffer, who worked with Wright at Taliesin.

According to SC Johnson, “The Gallery showcases a rotating selection of Wright’s designs and artifacts and explores the legendary architect’s influence on families and the American home. The first exhibit focuses on Wright’s most well-known works from the Prairie School era (1899-1909) and features reproductions of drawings, renderings and rooms from some of Wright’s most famous Prairie-Style houses.”

CCA Wins Two AIA Colorado West Awards

Friday night at the AIA Colorado West annual awards gala, Charles Cunniffe Architects took home two awards. CCA was awarded a Merit Award for Theatre Aspen and won the distinguished “People’s Choice Award” for Willoughby Way. The People’s Choice Award is selected by the attendees of the gala, which include regional architects and industry professionals. Given the incredible competition, the CCA team is extremely thrilled! Thank you to the hard working American Institute of Architects staff and the Viceroy Hotel.

Telluride Grandstands

Batter’s up. If you haven’t been to a softball game in Telluride’s famed Town Park, you’ve got to put that on your bucket list. Last year CCA designed and oversaw construction for new grandstands for the many fans who enjoy the park each summer.

Aspen Real Estate Market On The Mend?

According to the Aspen Times, “The real estate market in the mid- and upper Roaring Fork Valley is on its way back, with Aspen showing more progress than Basalt and Snowmass Village.” The state of the real estate market was a key topic at the 2012 Aspen/Snowmass State of the Real Estate and Tourism Economy symposium. There broker associate Andrew Ernemann, of BJ Adams and Co., described Aspen’s market as “optimistic” and at “the beginning of the upward trend.”

This is great news for the many homeowners and potential buyers looking to make a home or second home in Aspen. Jim Taylor, a marketing and branding consultant, told Aspen Times that “Many affluent people are interested in adding quality to their lives, and many responded to the survey by saying ‘adventure’ was important to them in looking for a second home.” What better place to seek adventure than the state of Colorado.
