Project Spotlight: Aspen Police Department

We love our residential work, and the civic projects that benefit the community, equally make our jobs beyond meaningful. To that end, we are honored to share with you the Aspen Police Department.

Standing three levels tall, the building features open workspaces and a variety of areas for social and impromptu gatherings, secure and private spaces, a workout room, and an underground garage. The main lobby is connected to a second floor community room with an expansive deck overlooking downtown and Aspen Mountain.

In addition to a communal, open space, sustainability is integral to the overall design. Renewable energy is produced on-site by a rooftop 46.9 kW photovoltaic array. Rainwater is recycled by planters and a green roof over the open space, allowing the building to use the collected water to irrigate the plants. Finally, in an effort to truly make the building meet environmentally-friendly standards, the building achieves LEED and WELL Building standards.

In addition to sustainability, we designed the building with functionality, security and safety, hoping to augment both the character of and connection with the Aspen community.
