Caribou Remodel

Our team at Charles Cunniffe Architects recently had the pleasure of working with a client who owned an older unit in the Caribou Condominium complex in Aspen, Colorado. Our charge was to use the existing floor plan and bring the dated condo into current day by use of materials. The transformation was exceptional and perfectly reflects the Owner’s tastes and personality.

Aspen Historical Society Exhibit

Looking for a fun, off-season outing? Don’t miss the current exhibit at the Aspen Historical Society’s Wheeler Stallard Museum in Aspen’s west end.

Out of Your Mind, Body & Spirit: Voices of Aspen, 1975 explores the swirling mix of forces that shaped the Aspen we know today. Political corruption, pollution, the Vietnam War, recession, civil and women’s rights combined to ignite the anger of an entire generation. Aspen offered a sanctuary from the “real world” – or did it?

The Barn at Castle Creek

With use of in-house 3D technology, our architectural team was able to work with our remote clients to help them visualize their barn, main house and caretaker cabin. With most of our clients living on either the East Coast, West Coast, Mid-West or abroad, these visualization tools we’ve incorporated into our design practice have proved instrumental.

Midland Place

In 2006 we had the chance to work with a team of developers to create a scheme for a lot in downtown Basalt, Colorado. The developers put together a program to include commercial, civic, retail, affordable housing and free market housing and charged Charles Cunniffe Architects with the design. The design incorporated all elements to work within the historic downtown vernacular. Although the project was not built, the opportunity to work with the Town of Basalt and the development group was a great experience.

Wisp Resort Residence

Tucked away in the mountains of North Maryland on Deep Creek Lake is Wisp Resort. Wishing for a mountain contemporary look not often found around Deep Creek Lake, the Owners of a breathtaking lot turned to the Rocky Mountains for inspiration. After seeing the work of Charles Cunniffe Architects featured in several magazines, the Owners engaged our team to design a home that they could call their own. Working via phone, email, conference calls and with one visit to Aspen, our team along with the Owners designed their family’s retreat. Currently in construction, the home is nearing completion.

Mar-a-Lago

On a trip to check on one of our projects in Lost Tree Village near Palm Beach, Florida, Charles had the great opportunity to visit the Mar-a-Lago Club.

A National Historic Landmark, the Mar-a-Lago Club is surrounded by 20 beautifully manicured acres and is an architectural masterpiece. The architecture, sculpture, planning and craftsmanship that went into this magnificent estate could not be duplicated today. The Mar-a-Lago Club has a special quality of timelessness that transcends the transition into the new millennium.

The splendor, style and elegance of what may be the world’s most beautiful and exclusive private club is truly ageless. Donald J. Trump invested millions of dollars in restoring and upgrading this “Jewel of Palm Beach,” creating the finest experience anywhere in luxury, relaxation, dining, entertainment and recreation – all in an unparalleled setting.
