CCA’s Marks the 100th Year Anniversary of Bauhaus

This year, we are thrilled to be sponsoring the 100-year anniversary of the Bauhaus Exhibit. The celebration will be held in Aspen from February to August and features weekly events from workshops and art walk tours to art exhibits and children’s activities, all open to the public.

A modernist art school founded in 1919 in Weimar, Germany, Bauhaus was for emphasizing the integration and equality of all the visual arts. In 1946, Bauhaus artist Herbert Bayer arrived in Aspen, the same year the Aspen Ski corporation opened. The result was a transformation from sleepy mountain town to what we know Aspen to be now.

“Bauhaus was avant-garde experimentation,” says Charles Cunniffe, “and the influence continues today, so we are very excited to be sponsoring it.”
