ArtCrush 2011

It’s finally here – ArtCrush 2011! Over 350 of the world’s top art collectors, wine connoisseurs, artists, gallery owners, curators, and global business leaders are coming together in Aspen to celebrate the Aspen Art Museum’s annual ArtCrush summer benefit gala.

ArtCrush has evolved into a week long social event aimed at engaging the art community in Aspen and around the globe. An eagerly anticipated event that quickly sells out, the benefit features a remarkable wine tasting and auction, seated dinner and both a live and silent auction of major works of contemporary art.

The live auction will once again be conducted by Tobias Meyer, Sotheby’s Europe Deputy Chairman, Worldwide Head of Contemporary Art and Principal Auctioneer. In addition to the gala and auction, each year the AAM presents the Aspen Award for Art to an important contemporary artist. This year’s celebration culminates with the tonight’s presentation of the 2011 Aspen Award for Art to renowned artist Roni Horn. Distinguished artists such as Richard Tuttle, Tony Feher, Jim Hodges, Ed Ruscha, Fred Tomaselli, and Marilyn Minter have been honored in the past.
