Situated high on a mountain top, this masterfully crafted home was designed to capture the unobstructed 180 degree views of the distant peaks. After several site visits with the Owners, CCA successfully achieved the optimal design by positioning the house to perfectly frame Pyramid Peak, designing an open floorplan for entertaining, and a home that would act as a backdrop for the Owners’ unique art collection.
Clear Cedar Beams project from the soaring entry to the great room, through to the exterior of the home. Dry stacked sandstone artfully cases the exterior of the home giving way to the floor to ceiling butted-glass windows and copper detail roofing. American Quartersawn Cherry floors underfoot give way to a massive Ribbon Mahogany fireplace warms the space while providing a stage for the Owners’ art. By working closely with the client and incorporating the vast collection of paintings, sculptures, one-of-a-kind music machines and artifacts, the architects thoughtfully designed a home that exceeded the owners’ expectations.
